Luis Sepulveda Biography

Luis D. Sepulveda is a comunity leader and President of the West Dallas Coalition for Environmental Justice, which he founded in 1989. He was raised in west Dallas and is the co-founder of the West Dallas Baseball Team, and the Latin American Baseball Association and serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations including the Dallas County Hospital District, Texas United Enviromental Organization, President of the West Dallas Coalition, the Arcadia Community Counsel, and the Library Board, City of Dallas.

Judge Sepulveda has received several awards including the National Environment Award and the Greater Dallas legal Community Development Foundation, the Greater Dallas Comunity Relations Committee Award and the Zapata Award, and has testified before the U. S. Congress on environmental issues. He has written for the Environmental Action Magazine, the West Dallas Toxic Times, and is currently working on a book about his work on the environment.

Judge Sepulveda is going into his fifth year as Justice of the Peace. As Judge, he has ruled over 4,320 Truancy Cases, 280 Jury Trials, 5,750 t.raffic cases, over 50 Home security cases, and has had over 220 hours of in-class room study of law.
